Research shows that personal computer users only use 20% of the functions of the computer 95% percent of the time. We often shop for the most powerful computers with the latest software and applications when in truth, we barely use them after the purchase. In short, most of the laptops and PCs we own right now is overkill, with tones of redundant software and application using up precious resources on the computer.

Their tiny size and lightweight make them ideal traveling computers. Those of us who owns a 13-15-inch laptop know all to well how cumbersome it is to travel with those machines. The netbook on the other hand can easily fit into your handbag and be carried around without bruising your shoulders.

Almost all of the models can be upgraded to a max of 2 GB RAM. 2 GB is more than enough for the Windows XP operating system.
Unless you are an avid gamer or use your computer for work requiring ample computing power (such as video editing or graphics design), there is really very little reason for you to not get a netbook if you are planning to buy a new computer.
